To our patrons and community members:

Due to ongoing reconstruction measures resulting from recent water damage, the Main Branch of Nelson County Public Library will close to the public for an undetermined length of time beginning Saturday, August 24. The last day for curbside services at the Main Branch will be Friday, August 23, until 6 pm. Also to be held on August 23 from 10 am-5 pm will be a Book Sale in Community Room #2.

While our physical location is closed, the book drop will remain accessible to patrons to return any library materials and we will remain committed to serving our community. No overdue charges will accrue during this time.

During this closure, the following services will be available:

  • Online Resources: Our digital library, including e-books, audiobooks, movies, music and online databases, will remain accessible 24/7 at ncplky.org
  • Off Site Programs: We will continue to offer some programs, at alternate locations. Check website for more info.
  • Alternative Locations: The New Haven and Bloomfield Branches will remain open at this time with access to wifi and computers.

We understand the inconvenience this closure may cause and appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to restore our facilities. The Nelson County Public Library has always been a cornerstone of our community, and we are committed to reopening as soon as possible.

Learn English with us! Join instructor Gail Hart every week for free English as a second language (ESL) classes, Thursdays at 10 am beginning September 26. We'll meet at Cooper Trail Senior Living (325 Lincoln Way, Bardstown) until the Main Branch of NCPL reopens to the public. Enter through the main entrance and ask for the class location at the reception desk. No registration required. Open to ages 18 & up.
