To our patrons and community members:

Due to ongoing reconstruction measures resulting from recent water damage, the Main Branch of Nelson County Public Library will close to the public for an undetermined length of time beginning Saturday, August 24. The last day for curbside services at the Main Branch will be Friday, August 23, until 6 pm. Also to be held on August 23 from 10 am-5 pm will be a Book Sale in Community Room #2.

While our physical location is closed, the book drop will remain accessible to patrons to return any library materials and we will remain committed to serving our community. No overdue charges will accrue during this time.

During this closure, the following services will be available:

  • Online Resources: Our digital library, including e-books, audiobooks, movies, music and online databases, will remain accessible 24/7 at ncplky.org
  • Off Site Programs: We will continue to offer some programs, at alternate locations. Check website for more info.
  • Alternative Locations: The New Haven and Bloomfield Branches will remain open at this time with access to wifi and computers.

We understand the inconvenience this closure may cause and appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to restore our facilities. The Nelson County Public Library has always been a cornerstone of our community, and we are committed to reopening as soon as possible.

Event Details

Walk. Jog. Run. Just move! Join us on Mondays this spring to walk or run--we'll have someone leading groups for each pace! Embrace the warmer weather and come dressed ready to move. We'll meet at 6:00 pm weekly in front of the Main Branch of NCPL (201 Cathedral Manor, Bardstown). Open to ages 18 and up. No registration required. Please note that all participants will be required to sign a safety waiver.
